Where is Coupiac located?
Nest in the Grands Causses Regional Nature Park, Coupiac is articulated around his imposing castle, like a guardian of time. Halfway between Saint-Affrique and Albi, this authentic village welcomes you with its peaceful valleys, signposted footpaths and bucolic panoramas, inviting you to relax and enjoy adventure. The village is also a discreet but moving place of pilgrimage: its chapel, decorated by the painter Nicolas Greschny, houses a relic of the Virgin's Veil, said to have healing powers, particularly for eye diseases. A spiritual and artistic stop not to be missed.
The castle of Coupiac : a trip in the heart of the Middle Ages
Dominating the village from the top of its rock, the castle of Coupiac is a life-size plunge into the 15th century. Listed on the Route of the Lords of Rouergue, this majestic building has more than 15 rooms, each telling a different story of medieval life : from the kitchens to the bedrooms, not forgetting the arms room and the chapel. Interactive exhibitions on calligraphy, costumes and ancient weapons will delight young and old alike. Children are not left out: games, fun trails and fancy dress allow them to experience the adventure as real little knights or princesses. The castle is also home to the Musée Rural du Bois, a tribute to the woodworking trades of yesteryear. You will discover traditional tools, the skills of cabinetmakers and sculptors, and an undiminished passion for noble materials.
